We’ve known from day one that Donald Trump is a racist, sexist, xenophobic, bigoted piece of garbage. He’s never really gone out of his way to hide that fact, even when he was running for president. But lately, it seems that the two and half years that he’s now spent in the White House have either seriously emboldened or really gotten to him — because just in the last few weeks, he’s gone from bad to worse.
Donald kicked off what we’re guessing is his new 2020 campaign slogan, full of brazen racism when he attacked four Congresswomen of color on Twitter, telling them to “go back where they came from” because they dared to challenge his cruel and inhumane policies. Since then Donald’s racism has been full tilt.
He has spurred chants of “send her back” during his MAGA rallies, repeatedly doubled down on his “just leave” rhetoric every chance that he gets, launched an all-out attack on Rep. Elijah Cummings, the entire city of Baltimore, Rev. Al Sharpton, and CNN’s Don Lemon, and he’s provided newfound confidence for all the racists of the country to proudly crawl their rat-asses from the shadows and haughtily display their hatred.
As a result of Trump’s recent surge in disgusting, hateful behavior, many government officials, American citizens, and even several organizations and establishments are reevaluating where they want to be seen standing on the Trump issue when the dust settles — one being the National Cathedral.
Mariann Edgar Budde, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington sat down for an interview with WUSA9 where she was asked if Trump would still be welcome at the National Cathedral, and she refused to give an answer.
In an interview Tuesday, WUSA9 asked Mariann Edgar Budde, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, if there would ever be a point where the president was no longer welcome at the Cathedral.
The interview took on added urgency – and Bishop Budde ultimately declined to comment.
‘I’m not going to address that here,’ she said during the phone interview from Minneapolis.
‘I’m not going to comment on that right now. So, my answer is, I don’t have a response to that right now, I don’t want to go there.'”
While Budde wasn’t willing to comment on the situation at that time, it’s worth noting that the National Cathedral did pen a lengthy statement in which they publicly condemned the president’s racist behavior and explained that they feel Trump’s presence in the cathedral could pose a public safety risk at this point.
This is where we’re at folks. A sitting US president could soon be banned from a house of worship because he’s a hateful, violent, racist pig.
