When it comes to Donald Trump’s latest racism-fueled shit show, the majority of the Republican side has been little more than a bunch of crickets chirping in the hope that this scandal will go the way of E Jean Carroll and Donald’s association with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein — quietly swept under the ever-growing rug, never to be spoken of again.
But considering the four Congresswomen he targeted have held a press conference detailing the abuse they’ve received at the president’s hands — and now that Nancy Pelosi has voted with Congress to publicly condemn Donald tweets as racist — that tactic isn’t particularly working out for them. It seems that the American public, along with many members of Congress, isn’t interested in adding any more of Trump’s nonsense to that pile under the rug.
However, amid the likes of Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham, there are a few members of the Republican party who are standing up to say “enough is enough.”
Lifelong Republican and former judge Elsa Alcala has now joined the likes of Rep. Will Hurd and Senator Mitt Romney in denouncing the president for his hateful, racist remarks and behavior — but she’s taking it a step further.
In addition to releasing a scathing statement to her Facebook page, Alcala has declared that she will be saying a big, fat “buh-bye” to the entire Republican party.
A lifelong Republican – first a prosecutor then a Perry-appointed CCA (state appeals court) judge – @TexasElsa just officially announced she’s switching parties, w/ a long and quotable Facebook post.
“The current Republican Party supports Trump so I cannot support that party.”

“President Trump is the worst president in the history of this country,” her statement began.
After giving a detailed explanation as to what brought her to this decision, Alcala ultimately announced, “In the next election, I will vote in the Democratic primary for the first time in over 20 years.”
“To me, nothing positive about him could absolve him of his rotten core,” she stated.
Do us all a favor and say it louder for the ones in the back, please!
