Trump Went Ballistic On Health Official Over Drug Plan: “I Don’t Understand A Word You’re Saying”

His attention span is virtually non-existent.

Regardless of how much he likes to claim he is, Donald Trump isn’t known for his smarts. In fact, if anything, he’s pretty well known for his inability, or at least refusal, to read.

The man’s attention span certainly leaves a lot to be desired. It wasn’t that long ago when he got completely distracted during a CIA debriefing by a fly in the room. And it seems, according to a report from the Washington Post, that Trump is just as confused and disinterested by healthcare as he was whatever was going on in that CIA meeting.

“President Trump was apoplectic about drug prices once again. A Wall Street Journal story in early January, picked up by Fox News, reported that prices on hundreds of drugs were going up — a slap in the face to a president who had campaigned on lowering costs and accused the pharmaceutical industry of ‘getting away with murder,'” the newspaper’s report read.

“At a Jan. 6 Camp David meeting, Trump fumed about Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, whom he had charged with lowering drug prices, according to three people with knowledge of the conversation,” the Washington Post continued. “Two days later in the Oval Office, a nervous Azar, who had just returned from vacation, detailed the intricacies of what he was doing to lower prices, leaving the president bored and impatient, according to people close to the situation.”

According to the report, Donald lashed out during the meeting, saying “I don’t understand a word you’re saying. And no one else will, either.”

It’s funny that he thinks his personal level of understanding should be used as a threshold for the rest of the country that’s picked up more than a Playboy magazine in their lifetime.

It seems that Trump is now taking to borrowing Democratic ideas in an attempt to come up with more effective policies.

“Now, though, under intense pressure to deliver campaign talking points, Azar has reversed his long-standing opposition to ideas traditionally espoused by Democrats and reviled by most Republicans and the drug industry,” the Post reported. “But officials from the White House — eager to strike a bold deal that would give Trump a high-profile signing ceremony — are in talks with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office about allowing Medicare to negotiate the prices of select drugs, according to Hill aides and lobbyists.”

Democrats have had success passing similar legislation in the past, but self-proclaimed “grim reaper” and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell downright refuses to even bring it up for a vote.
