Trump Warns We Should Be Careful About Letting Bahamian Survivors Of Hurricane Into US Because There Could Be “Very Bad People” Among Them

This is so sickening.

Donald Trump has built his entire campaign and subsequent presidency on cruel, unusual, and inhumane immigration policies — policies that only apply to immigrants that are brown.

It’s certainly no secret that while white immigrants like his wife are essentially allowed to get away with murder, those with a darker skin tone that are attempting to legally seek asylum at our southern border can expect to have their children ripped from their arms and thrown in cages indefinitely while those from the Middle East with more melanin can’t even get on an airplane.

If somehow you weren’t already convinced that Trump’s issue was less about actual immigration and more about the skin color of said immigrants, try this on for size — Donnie doesn’t think we should be allowing Bahamian survivors of Hurricane Dorian into our country because there could be “very bad people” among them.

Now, that sounds eerily reminiscent of the exact same rhetoric he uses against Hispanic folks. Yet, you’ve never once heard him mention the “very bad people” that come out of Slovenia — like the one that’s currently chilling in the White House.

Trump spoke with reporters outside the White House today after several hundred Bahamian survivors who did not have US visas were denied access to our country yesterday — something that a top US immigration official has claimed was a mistake.

Yet, Donald seems to be sticking to the rhetoric that “everyone needs totally proper documentation.”

“The Bahamas has some tremendous problems with people going to the Bahamas that weren’t supposed to be there,” Trump stated. “I don’t want to allow people that weren’t supposed to be in the Bahamas to come into the United States, including some very bad people and some very bad gang members and some very, very bad drug dealers.”

Now, to be clear, the people that got turned away and forced off the ferries headed for Florida were children and people who were carrying federal ID and printouts of their clean police reports.

As the Bahamas continue to raise their death toll every day, Trump sits over here in his comfy White House and hammers them with the same derogatory remarks that he’s used against other immigrants of color countless times before.

It has nothing to do with immigration. It’s just racism. Plain and simple.
