The situation mounting between the United States and Iran, via president Donald Trump, is continually and quickly getting worse. Recently, Iran shot down an unmanned drone and Donald had a lot of trouble figuring out how to react to it. He bounced bounce back and forth between threats of harsh retaliation and claiming that the attack wasn’t on purpose. Then supposedly called off an airstrike against the country just minutes before it was set to launch due to the number of casualties it would cause.
Donald’s most recent tactic, in lieu of an airstrike attack, seems to be US sanctions against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani responded to these sanctions by slamming Donald Trump and his White House as “mentally retarded.”
“The White House actions mean it is mentally retarded,” Rouhani fired back in a blistering televised statement. “Tehran’s strategic patience does not mean we have fear.”
Of course, Donald Trump has never and will never take well to any form of criticism, especially not against his intelligence — which we’re all aware is severely lacking.
So, as expected, Roouhani’s scathing statement induced an all-out Twitter meltdown of epic proportions — with the president ultimately threatening to “obliterate” the country for saying mean things about him.
“Iran’s very ignorant and insulting statement, put out today, only shows that they do not understand reality. Any attack by Iran on anything American will be met with great and overwhelming force,” Donald threatened via his Twitter account. Because apparently, we don’t do anything in an official capacity anymore. “In some areas, overwhelming will mean obliteration. No more John Kerry & Obama!”

It’s a worrisome situation when the equivalent of the schoolyard bully has access to the big red button. What sort of world do we live in when our country can be catapulted into a massive war because someone hurt the president’s feelings?
