NYT Reports Trump Solicited Another Foreign Leader For “Personal Political” Reasons

Again, Donald... This is ILLEGAL.

The hole of his own making that Donald Trump is currently sitting in is quickly becoming deeper and deeper.

Trump has already found himself on the wrong end of a formal impeachment inquiry as a result of his scandal with Ukraine — in which he attempted to extort the government of the country into giving him dirt on Democratic political opponent and former Vice President Joe Biden by withholding military aid and funding.

In the course of this particular damning scandal, Trump has released a “transcript” of his phone call with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, which only served to further incriminate him, and the full extent of the whistleblower’s original complaint has been released to the public as well — making an already bad situation for the president that much worse.

But Donald Trump may have now found himself at the bottom of the proverbial barrel after an explosive report from the New York Times has revealed that Russia and now Ukraine aren’t the only foreign governments that Trump has attempted to solicit as the president of this nation.

According to the Times report, Australian prime minister Scott Morrison also found himself on the other end of a rather unsavory phone call from Donald Trump.

“President Trump pushed the Australian prime minister during a recent telephone call to help Attorney General William P. Barr gather information for a Justice Department inquiry that Mr. Trump hopes will discredit the Mueller investigation, according to two American officials with knowledge of the call,” the bombshell Times report read.

It goes on to indicate that the records of this call were also stashed away on a backdoor server with only a select few White House officials having access to its contents, strikingly similar to the protocol that was used in regard to the phone call with Ukraine that’s effectively destroyed him.

“President Trump initiated the discussion in recent weeks with Mr. Morrison explicitly for the purpose of requesting Australia’s help in the Justice Department review of the Russia investigation, according to the two people with knowledge of the discussion,” the report continued. “Mr. Barr requested that Mr. Trump speak to Mr. Morrison, one of the people said. It came only weeks after Mr. Trump seemed to make military aid to Ukraine contingent on Mr. Zelensky doing him the ‘favor’ of helping Mr. Barr with his work.”

Of course, thus far, no White House officials have responded to requests for comments and the Australian government has yet to make any statements, as well.

As of now, we’re uncertain as to whether or not the Democrats will be adding this new development to their impeachment inquiry. But it doesn’t seem that things could possibly get much worse for Trump.
