NY Judge Says Trump Is Not Above The Law, Orders Him To Sit In For Deposition In Lawsuit Against Him

He's not getting out of this one.

Donald Trump likes to believe that he is a man untouchable by the long arm of the law — and quite frankly, there are more times than not lately that I’m beginning to feel the same.

Sometimes it really seems as though the man could commit cold-blooded murder in broad daylight and his pals over at the Department of Justice are going to make sure that it never so much as stains his name. I mean, dozens of credible rape allegations, blatant obstruction of justice outlined in the Mueller report, collusion with multiple foreign countries — and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the ever-growing list of Trump atrocities.

But then there are other times that true justice does manage to prevail.

Trump will soon have no choice but to sit for a deposition per a Friday order by a state Supreme Court judge regarding a New York lawsuit against Donald and the Trump Organization stemming from a violent encounter between Mexican protesters and Trump’s employees back in 2015 — a subpoena which Trump’s personal attorneys have been fighting tooth and nail to have thrown out.

The incident took place when Donald was still a Republican presidential candidate and demonstrators had gathered outside of the Trump Tower in protest of his racist remarks and behavior against Hispanic people.

After the group’s third demonstration outside of the Trump property, the lawsuit claims that Donald’s director of security, Keith Schiller, seized some of the signs being held by protesters and allegedly physically assaulted one of the demonstrators who tried to take the signage back.

“After being attacked by Schiller in front of so many witnesses and television cameras, I am afraid that Trump’s security guards will continue to use violence to prevent us from demonstrating on the public sidewalk,” the civil complaint of protester Efrain Galicia read. “I am very concerned for my safety and the safety of my friends and fellow activists.”

New York State Supreme Court Justice Doris M. Gonzalez recognized Donald’s persistent and documented attempts circumvent any judicial reach and responded appropriately.

“More than 200 years ago our founders sought to escape an oppressive, tyrannical governance in which absolute power vested with a monarch. A fear of the recurrence of tyranny birthed our three-branch government adorned with checks and balance,” Gonzalez wrote in her ruling on Friday. “Put more plainly, no government official, including the Executive, is above the law.”

Of course, representatives from the Trump party have refused to comment on the matter.

Now, could Nancy Pelosi please take a tip or two from this judge?
