McConnell Responds To Protests Against Him: “I Will Not Be Intimidated”

Is that so?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wants us all to know that he will never stop doing the bidding of our racist-in-chief, no matter how much we protest him.

Evidently, the folks of Kentucky have had all they’re willing to take from Mitch McConnell. The billboards and speech protests aren’t seeming to cut it. So, they’ve taken to more drastic measures such as protesting outside his home and office. Is it the “right” thing to do? Meh. Are Kentuckians and Americans alike so fed up with his absolute bullshit that they feel they have no other option? Hell yes. And sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do.

But according to ol’ Mr. Turtle Neck himself, he’s just not gonna let it bring him down. He has far too much square footage of Donald Trump’s ass to kiss before he has the time to worry about protesters.

During an interview with Kentucky radio station WHAS, McConnell stated, “I have a word for everybody who’s been in the front yard, and everybody who’s trying to get in my space, I will not be intimidated by you people, not a chance.”

“Not a single thing you do is going to alter how I operate on behalf of my constituents and the country for whom I have a significant amount of responsibility,” he continued. And we’re going to talk about that “responsibility” to this country and your constituents here in just a moment, Mr. McConnell. You just hang tight.

WHAS 11 has reported that several demonstrators gathered outside of McConnell’s home Monday evening where he’s been recovering from a broken shoulder after a fall, holding signs and crying out chants about everything ranging from immigration to LGBTQ+ rights, to unreturned calls and emails. (Which, as a constituent, I can personally attest to. It’s been months, Mitch.)

McConnell brushed off WHAS’s question as to whether his neighbors have grief with the protests that are running well into the night, stating, “I have plenty of security. I haven’t needed to abandon my house… Hopefully, they’ll behave themselves. I’ve said to my neighbors, ‘it probably isn’t good for property values living next to me.'”

Now, let’s get back to that “responsibility,” shall we?

Since you won’t return my calls or emails, Mr. McConnell — you do have a responsibility to this country as well as your constituents in the state of Kentucky. Since I am one of those constituents, let me just say on behalf of pretty much all of us — you fucking suck. You have a responsibility to this nation, to this country’s Constitution, to the citizens of America, and the citizens of Kentucky. You DO NOT have a responsibility to Donald Trump.

To say that your priorities are out of line would be the understatement of the year. And you may not “be intimidated.” But I have news for you, we will not stop. We will be at your office. On your street. On every corner and sidewalk and deli and supermarket that you have the gall to show your face in.

You don’t have to be intimidated, Mr. McConnell. Because rest assured, your time is limited either way.
