Donald Trump seems to be on thin ice with Fox News lately. Not only have we seen the network being far more critical toward the president in the last several weeks, but his attacks on the hosts of the only network that is still nice to him aren’t helping.
Recently, Trump insulted Fox News analyst and Judge Andrew Napolitano on Twitter, only to have it come back and bite him in the ass. On Saturday, Trump attacked Napolitano’s intelligence on Twitter, claiming that the Fox host had asked for a Supreme Court appointment and “asked for pardon for his friend.”
….Ever since Andrew came to my office to ask that I appoint him to the U.S. Supreme Court, and I said NO, he has been very hostile! Also asked for pardon for his friend. A good “pal” of low ratings Shepard Smith.

This all happened because Napolitano pointed out that Robert Mueller’s report revealed “unlawful, defenseless and condemnable” actions by Trump. When fellow Fox host Maria Bartiromo asked Napolitano about this, Napolitano was more than happy to throw the president under the bus. He said, “This is the way you treat your friends? How do you treat your enemies?”
Napolitano defended himself, recalling several conversations he’d had with Trump when the president-elect was exploring options for Antonin Scalia’s place on the Supreme Court. Napolitano had described Neil Gorsuch as a good option and mentioned the qualities Gorsuch had that Trump was looking for, only to have Trump say, “sounds like you’re describing yourself.” Napolitano explained:
I said ‘no, no, I’m not describing myself. I’m describing Neil Gorsuch because you have this list of people from which you want to choose, and Judge Gorsuch is the person that I think most of your advisers are going to point to.'”
Napolitano also touched on the “pardon” situation, stating that Trump had asked for his opinion on the conviction of their “mutual friend.” Napolitano had told Trump that he thought it was a fair conviction, and in turn Trump disagreed and ignored his input:
He said ‘You know this person as well as I do. Call this person up and tell this person he’s going to be on the list of pardons that I will seriously consider.’ That was the extent of that conversation.”
To top off this exposure of Trump, the Fox host pointed out that Trump’s attacks on him (and everyone else speaking out right now) were a “brilliant” way to distract from those drawing attention to the Mueller report.

Trump’s friends on Fox News are dropping like flies, and if he keeps treating them like this he won’t have anyone left to defend him.
