Leaked Message Reveals How UK Ambassador Really Feels About Trump, Calls Him “Insecure” And “Incompetent”

This won't end well.

According to a new report from CNN, President Trump and the United Kingdom don’t share quite the chummy relationship that Donald seems to believe they do — and after this, it may be getting much worse.

Diplomatic cables from the British Ambassador to the US sent back to London describe Donald as “inept,” “insecure,” and “incompetent.”

Of course, exchanges such as this are supposed to be confidential between the ambassador and their home country. But leaks do occasionally happen with these transactions just the same as any other — and this particular leak could potentially damage months of work by Ambassador Kim Darroch and his diplomats to build a trusting working relationship with Donald Trump and his administration.

According to the Daily Mail, who was the first to obtain and publish the leaks, Darroch used these secretive methods of communication, including cables and briefing notes to try to alert the United Kingdom government that Trump’s “career could end in disgrace” and told of disastrous conflicts within Trump’s White House, calling them “knife fights.”

A government source in the UK confirmed to CNN that the leaks are genuine.

According to the Daily Mail, these secret exchanges that paint Donald Trump in his truest unflattering light span between 2017 and present day.

The White House, of course, had no comment on this turn of events — though we’re certain Trump is putting his tweet together as we speak. However, the British FCO did release a statement:

The British public would expect our Ambassadors to provide Ministers with an honest, unvarnished assessment of the politics in their country. Their views are not necessarily the views of Ministers or indeed the government. But we pay them to be candid, just as the US Ambassador here will send back his reading of Westminster politics and personalities.

Of course, we would expect such advice to be handled by Ministers and civil servants in the right way and it’s important that our Ambassadors can offer their advice and for it to remain confidential. Our team in Washington have strong relations with the White House and no doubt that these will withstand such mischievous behavior.”

We have no doubt that, despite the fact that he was just doing his job thoroughly and correctly, Darroch will soon be looking for a new one, as no one escapes from talking shit about Trump with their job still intact.
