Donald Trump is not a popular or well-liked man among world leaders. Even dictators such as North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who Trump tends to brag about his chummy, friendly relationships with, don’t really care for him much at all. They just recognize how stupid, gullible, and easily-swayed by power he is and use that to their advantage — Donald can brag about his wonderful relationship with Kim Jong Un all he likes, the North Korean dictator is still testing nuclear weapons whenever he pleases.
Other than the few dictators that Donald simply wishes he could be just like, the majority of his fellow world leaders have regularly expressed their disdain for America’s president. The likes of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, and President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron have all made it clear in some way or another that Donald Trump is far from their favorite person to hang out with.
But as it turns out, world leaders aren’t alone in their dislike of 45.
According to a resurfaced report, the first lady of Japan was so turned off by President Trump that she actually pretended to not speak a word of English in an attempt to avoid any conversation with him.
After a G20 Summit dinner with Japan’s first lady, Akie Abe, Trump told the New York Times that he found Abe to be a “terrific woman” but he found it “hard” to be seated next to her throughout the nearly 2-hour long dinner due to the fact that she “doesn’t speak English.”
“Like, nothing, right? Like zero?” The New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman questioned. “Like, not ‘hello,'” Trump replied.
But Akie Abe does speak English. Quite well, actually — Which was proven by a 2014 keynote address given by Abe in which she not only said “hello,” she gave an entire speech.
She can speak English with the best of us, Trump. She just didn’t want to talk to you.
