Donald Trump has spent the last few days in a racist fury befitting of a Ku Klux Klan member after he kicked things off with a series of hate-filled tweets telling several Congresswomen of color to “go back” where they came from, despite the fact that three out of four of his targets were born in the US and the one that wasn’t, Rep. Ilhan Omar, has been a citizen of the United States for longer than his wife Melania — Omar became a legal citizen in 2000 at the age of 17, whereas Melania got her shady citizenship in 2006 at the age of 36.
Donald’s hateful rhetoric didn’t stop there though, as he took his remarks public at his “Made in America” event where he reiterated his immature “just leave” statements and proceeded to attack House Speaker Nancy Pelosi yet again, labeling her as a racist for her comment in which she stated that Donald’s goal is to “make America white again.”
An unsurprisingly small number of Republicans have publicly condemned Trump’s blatantly racist and hateful remarks and behavior. However, the folks up north have wasted no time in making it known that they don’t have a shred of tolerance for Donald’s sickening behavior.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered remarks at a press conference with the secretary-general of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, in which he made it strikingly clear that sort of behavior and rhetoric would not be permitted in his country.
“I think Canadians and indeed people around the world know exactly what I think about those particular comments. That is not how we do things in Canada. A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian. The diversity of our country is actually one of our greatest strengths and a source of tremendous resilience and pride for Canadians and we will continue to defend that,” Trudeau stated, though he would not outright label Donald’s actions as “racist.”
Outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May also expressed her condemnation of Trump’s behavior and blatant display of racism, saying it was “completely unacceptable.”
This should be the only indicator we need, folks. Donald’s behavior is not normal or acceptable for the leader of a civilized nation. It’s unsurprisingly more akin to that of which you’d find somewhere like North Korea or Russia.
