Nearly everyone in Donald Trump’s White House is a vile human being, and it’s sometimes the women that surprise us the most. The fact that any woman would defend or work for a man who has been accused of rape (AND child rape) or sexual assault by several women is outrageous. Women such as Ivanka Trump, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Senior Presidential Advisor Kellyanne Conway have all been dragged in the media for their complicit role in Trump’s White House, but one of them has just taken a stand against the entire administration.
The White House had just issued a statement defending Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who has recently been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in his younger years. Trump and his administration have denied the allegations, standing fully behind Kavanaugh and doing all they can to prevent Kavanaugh’s confirmation vote on Thursday from being delayed. However, in an interview with Fox & Friends this morning, Kellyanne Conway actually seemed to take the side of the accuser more than anyone in Trump’s administration.
While Republicans have been trashing Kavanaugh’s accuser and attacking Democrats for demanding that these allegations be taken seriously, Conway stood with the accuser and Democrats. To the surprise of Trump, his administration, and Fox News, Conway said:
This woman should not be insulted and she should not be ignored.”
Conway also said, “She will be heard” — a far cry from what Trump’s team wants as the president is desperate to appoint Kavanaugh. This is definitely noteworthy coming from Conway.
We all know that Trump was watching Fox & Friends when this happened (because it’s his favorite show), and her comments likely caused him to spit out his Diet Coke and start throwing a temper tantrum at the television. We never thought we’d be saying this about Conway, but what she did today was actually refreshing. You can watch this moment below:
