SNL Brings Back Alec Baldwin To Tackle Trump’s Impeachment Inquiry, POTUS Will Not Be Happy

This is the best one they've done yet.

It’s been a while since we saw Alec Baldwin’s “Donald Trump” impersonation on Saturday Night Live, and let me tell you, I didn’t know how much I needed it. The President so often makes me feel like I’m taking crazy pills that every once in a while you have to see someone lampoon his behavior, just to keep in perspective just what is TOO silly for Donnie to have done it.

Turns out that list of no-nos is pretty short.

But at least on SNL we get to see all the funny parts. The cold open has Trump on the phone with colossal moron and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is reassuring the man-boy President that their dirty dealings will never be uncovered. But Rudy’s penchant for accidentally confessing to crimes on national television takes center stage, before “AG Barr” joins the fray, only to tell Trump that he has their best man on the case before cutting back to Rudy.

But Trump’s desperation just grows and grows as he goes through seemingly his entire Rolodex looking for someone who can help him out of the jam he’s in with the impeachment inquiry: Mike Pence, Don and Eric, Kim Jong-Un, an incredible impression of Kanye West, Don King, Judge Jeanine, and [the real] Liev Schreiber all make appearances, and Trump even name-drops John Wick and Liam Neeson.

I wish that the actual proceedings during this impeachment promised to be half as funny as watching Baldwin knock out his impression of Trump every weekend. He’s gotten so good at it, Trump himself seems to mimic Alec’s mimicry.

We can only hope that the real cast of buffoons in this shitshow of a presidency-ending circus can put on half as entertaining a performance.
