Ivanka Tweeted About Shootings In Chicago But Got All Her Facts Wrong, Mayor Responds

Seems she learned how to gather facts from her daddy.

Donald Trump has rightly faced a boatload of criticism lately in the wake of mass shootings that have raged through our country in the last several days. Of course, Donald has done nothing more than issue his obligatory “thoughts and prayers” tweets before he headed out to crash a wedding at his New Jersey golf course and spend some time on the links. No gun legislation, no meetings with Congress, no emergency declarations even as foreign countries issue travel warnings to their citizens, cautioning them of the risks of being shot should they travel to America.

But Donnie shouldn’t fret, because his princess, Ivanka is coming to his rescue with a bullshit tweet of her own attacking the city of Chicago after Ohio experienced a mass shooting.

“As we grieve over the evil mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, let us not overlook that Chicago experienced its deadliest weekend of the year,” her tweet read, followed by another stating, “With 7 dead and 52 wounded near a playground in the Windy City- and little national outrage or media coverage- we mustn’t become numb to the violence faced by inner-city communities every day.”

It seems that Ivanka may have inherited her Twitter habits from her dear ol’ dad. Because hers was just as full of blatant lies and misinformation as most of her daddy’s are. And boy, did Chicago’s mayor Lori Lightfoot let her know about it.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Lightfoot attended a news conference after a meeting with police brass and was sure to point out that Ivanka got her fact completely wrong by implying that the shootings were all part of one episode.

“It wasn’t a playground, it was a park. It wasn’t seven dead. It wasn’t 52 wounded in one incident, which is what this suggests. It’s misleading,” the Chicago mayor stated. “It’s important when we’re talking about people’s lives to actually get the facts correct, which one can easily do if you actually cared about getting it right.”

She went on to state that if Ivanka had truly wanted a constructive dialogue, she should have reached out to Chicago officials to ensure that she had the correct information.

“What I’m focused on is actually helping run the city of Chicago and working hard every day with the superintendent and his leadership team to keep people in our city safe. I’m not going to be distracted by nonsense tweets from people who don’t know what they’re talking about,” Lightfoot stated.

Someone should inform her just how dangerous misinformation is. And remind her that someone will always be along to school her very shortly. Just like they do her daddy.
