Donald Trump isn’t just getting blasted by the media and the majority of the country for caving in to the Democrats and reopening the government without getting any funding for his wall — even his own team is making fun of him.
Trump’s former staff members recognize just how bad their ex-boss looked when he agreed to reopen the government for three weeks, making his 35-day temper tantrum over his border wall seem absolutely pointless and ineffective. This was such a disastrous, failed move by Trump that his own former staff members are nervous about what this means for the rest of his presidency!
According to Politico, there’s a group text message between former White House aides where they’re talking about the consequences of what Trump has done. One former official said:
President Nancy Pelosi, she runs the country now. We went from indefinite shutdown, to down payment, to cave — all within a span of 24 hours.”
To make matters worse for Trump, this aide also said that Trump had made his fanbase “furious” and his supporters were “melting down.” Another former campaign staffer told Politico:
It’s like watching a house completely engulfed in flames; there’s nothing you can do except watch.”
In another text, a former official said, “He allowed 35 days of chaos and hurt all for nothing. I’m so glad people will start being paid, but this could have been done in December.”
Looking into the future, the former campaign official stated that although Trump has three weeks to secure funding for his border wall, he’s practically already lost and Pelosi has the upper hand. They said:
He’s going to cave again in [three] weeks. Democrats have Trump by the balls.”
Looks like the rest of Trump’s presidency is going to be one disappointment after another for Trump’s base now that the Democrats have taken over the House.
