As it turns out, Trump isn’t the only individual in that shitstorm of an administration who’s been on the receiving end of some pretty intense protests.

Ol’ “Moscow” Mitch McConnell has seen his fair share of vocal detractors and even Donnie’s namesake Don Jr. has been the subject of a few demonstrations.

Now it seems to be acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan’s turn — and this time the protesters were so loud and determined that the man literally couldn’t even finish his address.

While attempting to deliver remarks at the annual immigration law and policy conference hosted by the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, and Georgetown Law, McAleenan had yet to even utter his first words before he was met by screams of “When immigrants come under attack, what do we do? Stand up, fight back!”

The Homeland Security Secretary tried to get his speech rolling three separate times, only to be met by interruptions from the demonstrators with each attempt.

“OK, last time, team,” McAleenan stated on his last attempt to speak to the crowd. “Lot to cover today, there’s some very serious issues that we can talk about today in candor, or we can continue to shout.”

The Homeland Security Secretary stated that he’d “like to take the dialogue above the politics and the daily news cycle” and discuss “some of the fundamental issues we face with the current legal framework and its ability to address large scale immigration flows.”

But the protesters gathered at the event simply weren’t having any of his bullshit and started in on their chants again, leading McAleenan to ultimately walk out on the event.

Program organizers have stated that the demonstrators were with a progressive grassroots organization CREDO Action, the advocacy arm of CREDO.

The goal of the protest “was to prevent McAleenan from having a platform to normalizing Trump’s cruel immigration policies and spreading hatred,” one CREDO rep told The Hill, stating that they worked in collaboration with several other groups as well as some Georgetown Law students.

MPI’s spokeswoman, Michelle Mittelstadt was none too happy about the course of events, stating, “We very much regret that the keynote address Homeland Security Acting Secretary Kevin McAleenan was to deliver today at the 16th annual Immigration Law and Policy Conference was disrupted by protesters and could not occur. By drowning out the Secretary’s remarks, the protesters deprived immigration attorneys, service providers, journalists, advocates, business leaders, law students, and many others in the public who were in the audience from hearing his point of view and engaging in a meaningful dialogue.”

But really, the fact of the matter is, there’s no such thing as “meaningful dialogue” with a person like that. We’re sick of their shit and they’re going to know about it. Period.
