Trump is going to regret this.

Tonight, Donald Trump did something he’s never done before — he actually admitted to agreeing with former President Barack Obama on something in a pathetic attempt to make himself look less awful on his immigration stance.

Trump has gotten absolutely pummeled recently for his disgusting comments about the caravan full of “terrorists” that is heading toward the border. Not to mention, he still hasn’t recovered from all the ridicule he got from separating thousands of young children from their families or his zero-tolerance policies. In a sad attempt to defend himself, Trump actually shared a 2005 video of then-senator Obama talking about immigration. The video Trump posted on his Twitter account showed Obama saying:

We are a generous and welcoming people here in the United States, but those who enter the country illegally and those who employ them disrespect the rule of law and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law. We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States, undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”

Trump captioned this with, “I agree with President Obama 100%!”

Trump is obviously trying to use Obama to make himself look better because he knows Americans still love and respect Obama so much more. But let’s just say this was a TERRIBLE idea because no one hesitated to point out that there was a big difference between Obama and Trump, and that the two men should not be lumped together under any circumstances. What followed was an onslaught of tweets putting Trump in his place:

We all know Trump didn’t share this video with good intent — he was just using Obama to boost his image.
