Donald Trump has barely been in Japan for the annual G20 Summit for an entire day and the man is already making a complete ass out of himself and our country, as expected.
We all know how wonderfully (cue the sarcasm) last year’s Summit went when he walked off the stage leaving Argentinian president Mauricio Macri standing on the stage bewildered as Donald begged aides to “get me out of here!” So honestly, we didn’t expect a whole lot out of the man this go-around. And boy, is he living up to our sub-standard expectations.
So far, Donald has already cracked jokes with Putin and somehow managed to forget to shake the Japanese Prime Minister’s hand, and now he’s managed to piss off pretty much the entire country of Spain by snubbing their Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at the event in Osaka, Japan.
The left-wing world leader attempted to turn and greet Trump, but he turned up his nose and barely spoke even stopped walking before disrespectfully pointing Sanchez back to his seat and striding past him with his usual air of arrogance and douchiness.
Of course, footage of the encounter spread like wildfire and Spanish publications took it for what it was — a complete act of disrespect on Donald’s part. Though, we’re not sure how they could even be surprised at this point.
El Pais, Spain’s second most read publication, described Donald’s actions as “mocking” towards their Prime Minister while El Periodico said that the gesture was “ugly.”
This isn’t the first time that Spain has taken issue with Trump’s treatment of their leader. Last summer at the NATO summit in Brussels, online news outlet Diario Patriota claimed that Donald “humiliated” their PM, “barely looked” at him, and “forced himself” to even greet his fellow world leader.
We would say that it couldn’t possibly get much worse. But let’s be real. We all know it could. And most likely will.
