Donald Trump is downright terrified of his potential 2020 opponent, former vice president Joe Biden. And instead of running a decent, transparent, and fair campaign against Biden, Trump attempted to tackle this impending election in much the same way he did the last one when running against Hilary Clinton — by digging up dirt, usually in illegal ways, and smearing his competition to the public to make everyone believe that, while Trump is a horrible human being as president, perhaps he’s the lesser of two evils after all.
However, what Donald and his team, primarily his legal team, don’t seem to understand is that Joe Biden is not Hilary Clinton. Biden has lived most of his life in the spotlight. And having served as the vice president to Barack Obama for eight years, there’s not much about the man that hasn’t already been exposed. Digging up dirt is difficult when Biden’s whole life has already been thoroughly tilled up.
That’s why Trump and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani’s attempt to launch a Ukranian conspiracy against Biden and his family crashed and burned before it even made it off the ground.
Giuliani proudly took full credit for launching the smear campaign during a recent segment with Fox News and had intended to travel to Ukraine for the sole purpose of gathering damning information on the Bidens. However, his trip was canceled once Senator Chris Murphy pledged to investigate Rudy’s activities were he to make the excursion.
As it turns out, Guiliani’s trip to Ukraine would have proven fruitless anyway, because Ukraine is refusing to humor Trump and his attorney’s nonsense. Instead, Ukraine’s prosecutor general made an absolute fool out of the pair in a report to Bloomberg.
Bloomberg’s report read:
“Ukraine’s prosecutor general said in an interview that he had no evidence of wrongdoing by U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden or his son, despite a swirl of allegations by President Donald Trump’s lawyer.
The controversy stems from diplomatic actions by Biden while his son, Hunter Biden, sat on the board of Burisma Group, one of the country’s biggest private gas companies. As vice president, Biden pursued an anti-corruption policy in Ukraine in 2016 that included a call for the resignation of the country’s top prosecutor who had previously investigated Burisma.”
Ukraine has made it crystal clear that they will not be participating in Donald Trump’s smear campaign of the Biden family. He may have pulled it off by the skin of his teeth with the Clintons, but it won’t happen again.
