After Donald Trump’s interview with Ainsley Earhardt of Fox and Friends aired in its entirety yesterday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions took exception to a large part of what the President said, specifically when he called out Sessions by name regarding the Mueller probe:
I put an Attorney General that never took control at the Justice Department, Jeff Sessions, never took control at the Justice Department. It’s sort of an incredible thing.”
Sessions’ response was not tepid, saying “I took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in … While I am Attorney General, the actions of the Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations.”
It seems that finally, the President saw Sessions’ statement, and this morning, he went on a multi-tweet tirade against the AG directly addressing his response:
“Department of Justice will not be improperly influenced by political considerations.” Jeff, this is GREAT, what everyone wants, so look into all of the corruption on the “other side” including deleted Emails, Comey lies & leaks, Mueller conflicts, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr……

….FISA abuse, Christopher Steele & his phony and corrupt Dossier, the Clinton Foundation, illegal surveillance of Trump Campaign, Russian collusion by Dems – and so much more. Open up the papers & documents without redaction? Come on Jeff, you can do it, the country is waiting!

Ex-NSA contractor to spend 63 months in jail over “classified” information. Gee, this is “small potatoes” compared to what Hillary Clinton did! So unfair Jeff, Double Standard.

It’s no secret what Donald Trump wants is for Sessions to end the Mueller probe or at least for the investigation to be derailed by the distraction of looking into things again that the DOJ has already concluded, but which the President didn’t agree with the outcome of.
The fact that Trump doesn’t like that Hillary Clinton having testified and been found innocent of any wrongdoing doesn’t make that conclusion incorrect. In fact, everything that the President mentioned in his tweets today has absolutely been investigated, and all dismissed. His taunts sound like a schoolboy.
Once again it appears that Trump is attempting to get Sessions to quit the job, but this far in, it’s almost inconceivable that he would do so. Add to that the fact that Senator Lindsey Graham all but announced that Trump was actually going to fire Sessions after the midterms, and you’ve got a recipe for a massive showdown between the DOJ and the Oval Office.
