Ever since Donald Trump’s United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced her resignation a few days ago, America has been in turmoil about who might be getting her spot next — especially since Trump has already made a very terrifying suggestion.
Just a few days ago, Trump suggested that his daughter Ivanka would be “incredible” for the role. Much to the horror of most Americans, Trump told reporters:
I’m not sure there’s anybody more competent in the world, but that’s OK. But we are looking at numerous people.”
Apparently, Ivanka does not feel the same. She voiced her own opinion in response to what her dad had said, and turned down the suggestion. She tweeted:
It is an honor to serve in the White House alongside so many great colleagues and I know that the President will nominate a formidable replacement for Ambassador Haley. That replacement will not be me.”

But Trump has never been one to back down — and it seems like he keeps pushing the idea regardless of the fact that Ivanka said she didn’t want any part of the role. In a tweet posted today, Trump pretty much ignored Ivanka’s statement and praised her again, complaining that he would be accused of “nepotism” if he made her his UN ambassador. Trump tweeted:
So nice, everyone wants Ivanka Trump to be the new United Nations Ambassador. She would be incredible, but I can already hear the chants of Nepotism! We have great people that want the job.”

It looks like Trump is still a little hopeful Ivanka may change her mind — hopefully, she won’t, because America is already furious that Trump’s family has been given more power in the White House than they should have.
