Michael Cohen, the former longtime personal lawyer of Donald Trump, stunned everyone today with his powerful testimony in which he spoke at length about the hush money payments he’d arranged for the president in order to keep his extramarital affairs secret.
One of the women who were involved in these payments, adult film star Stormy Daniels, has just spoken up about Cohen’s testimony – and her response might surprise you. As someone who was targeted and once threatened by Cohen and Trump, Daniels actually took the opportunity to speak out and thank Cohen for testifying.
In a statement given to MSNBC as Cohen was testifying before the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Daniels reminded Cohen of the terrible way he’d treated her, but was sympathetic to him and his family. She wrote:
Michael, I’m proud of you for finally beginning to tell the truth about what you did, and trying to repair some of the harm you have caused. I can hear the pain and regret you feel for betraying your family and your country. My heart goes out to you and your family.”
Daniels reminded everyone that Cohen and Trump had previously called her a “liar” and had threatened her family. She said:
Do you believe now that when you and the president called me a liar, when you were his attorney and you insulted me, threatened to bankrupt me and worse, that you put me and my family in danger? I remember the fear you feel. I still feel it.
Thank you for having the courage, at long last, to begin to tell the truth. I hope that someday soon your family and mine can both leave this nightmare behind.”

Daniels was a class act with this statement. Hopefully, Cohen will remember the kindness she extended him, which he did not give to her.
