We can guarantee you that Donald Trump is never going to pass up on a chance to stroke his own ego. It doesn’t matter what the situation is. If he’s given even an inch of opportunity, prepare for him to take off running (metaphorically speaking, of course — God knows after that tux incident with the Queen, the man isn’t physically running a damn place).
Today, while meeting with the president of Poland, Donald took the opportunity to give his ego a nice, long pet when he bragged that “some people” referred to a 2017 speech he made in Poland as “the best speech ever made by a president in Europe.”
And we all know that Trump’s use of “some people” is synonymous with “this is a big fat crock of shit I’ve been cooking since last night.”
Trump was taking questions from reporters in the Oval Office with Polish President Andrzej Duda when he was asked whether or not he would be accepting an invitation to return to Poland. Trump stated that he believes he will at some point, and then quickly went downhill into his tangent about his visit to the country back in 2017.
“I just had an incredible time. That speech was special from the standpoint of the people of Poland, and I know it was considered a very important speech. You people even gave me very high marks on that speech,” Trump said, referencing the reporters that were in the room.
“I could say it, but I don’t want to say it, but some people said it was the best speech ever made by a president in Europe,” he went on, without ever specifying who actually said that. “But I did not say that. I’m just quoting other people.”
“But it was a great day. The two folks, you treated us so great, I’ll never forget it. We won’t forget our trip to Poland. Very, very tremendous, special people.”
Why does he have to be so weird?!
