This is JUST what Mueller wanted to hear.

Donald Trump should be extremely nervous about all the people Special Counsel Robert Mueller is going to get to flip on him. One of the key people that Mueller has gotten to turn against Trump is the president’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, who started to buckle under the pressure almost immediately. What Cohen exposed Trump for today is going to ruin the president.

It turns out that the Trump Organization intended to give a $50 million penthouse suite to Russian President Vladimir Putin — yet another major red flag in the president’s relationship with the man who hacked the U.S. election and helped him win. Trump had wanted to give the penthouse to Putin during negotiations of a real estate deal to put a Trump Tower in Moscow, further showing just how many conflicts of interest Trump has in this.

According to BuzzFeed News, longtime Trump associate Felix Sater said that he and Cohen thought giving the suite to Putin could help sell more apartments. Sater said:

In Russia, the oligarchs would bend over backwards to live in the same building as Vladimir Putin. My idea was to give a $50 million penthouse to Putin and charge $250 million more for the rest of the units. All the oligarchs would line up to live in the same building as Putin.”

Cohen had apparently stated that it was a “great idea” at the time. Today, Cohen pleaded guilty in court, admitting that he lied to Congress about the plan to put a Trump Tower in Russia. Thanks to Cohen’s plea deal, court documents revealed extremely detailed business dealings between Trump and Russia that had gone on far longer than had been reported.

Cohen admitted he had lied when submitting an Aug. 28, 2017, letter to the Senate and House intelligence committees, stating that the project in Russia had ended January 2016 when Trump began his presidency. In reality, this project continued for months past the presidential campaign ended. Prosecutors stated that Cohen lied to “minimize links between the Moscow Project and (Trump) and give the false impression that the Moscow Project ended before the Iowa caucus and the very first primary in hopes of limiting the ongoing Russia investigations.”

Once again, Trump’s wrongdoings are exposed by one of his own team members. This is going to look really bad for Trump, and Mueller is closing in.
