Michael Cohen, the former longtime personal lawyer of Donald Trump, is getting the president back for all the years he abused and humiliated him. As Trump’s former “fixer” and the holder of all the president’s secrets, Cohen is using his newfound power away from Trump to turn the tables and get some much needed revenge.
The New York Times has just reported that Cohen has provided federal prosecutors in Manhattan with even more damaging info against the president, this time about insurance claim “irregularities” that may exist the Trump family business. The New York Times reported:
Mr. Cohen, who worked at the Trump Organization for a decade, spoke with the prosecutors about insurance claims the company had filed over the years, said the people, who did not elaborate on the nature of the possible irregularities.
While it was not clear whether the prosecutors found Mr. Cohen’s information credible and whether they intended to pursue it, the meeting suggests that they are interested in broader aspects of the Trump Organization, beyond their investigation into the company’s role in the hush money payments made before the 2016 election to women claiming to have had affairs with Mr. Trump. Mr. Cohen pleaded guilty last summer to arranging those payments.”
The New York Times also said, “There was no indication that Mr. Cohen, who is scheduled to begin serving a three-year prison sentence in May, implicated Mr. Trump in the possible irregularities discussed during the meeting last month.”
Cohen, who will start a three year prison sentence in May, may have provided prosecutors with this information in hopes that he’d get his sentence reduced. If his strategy works, we are probably going to see Cohen leak far more damaging info in the future. Trump is completely screwed, and it’s his own fault.
