Donald Trump has been the laughing stock of the world for the past few years and former Vice President Joe Biden trolled the President hard during a recent speech. Biden took the stage at the University of Nebraska-Omaha yesterday (Feb. 28) to deliver a speech at a global leadership forum, but after he received a phone call mid-speech he sent the audience into an uproar of laughter.
“That’s President Trump calling me,” former Vice Pres. Joe Biden jokes as a cell phone rings during his speech at a global leadership forum in Nebraska.

During his speech, the former Vice President said American global leadership is “in doubt now” due to the current President’s decisions to abandon longtime allies, treaties, and alliances. Biden also took a jab at Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying “We still need to restrain Putin, who quite frankly is a thug.” He went on to criticize the president for believing Putin’s word over the U.S. intelligence community, backing away from European allies and diminishing the U.S. role in NATO.
The jokes didn’t stop with the phone call though, as Biden addressed Trump’s tendency to see international relations as a business deal. Biden said he “hope(s) the president has learned a very important lesson” after failed negotiations in Vietnam with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un over nuclear disarmament issues.
“The president did the right thing by walking away,” Biden said. “But diplomacy matters; preparation matters. The president treats everything like it’s a real estate deal.”
Biden’s speech came shortly after he inched closer to a decision on running for president in the upcoming 2020 election, telling a University of Delaware audience his family has given him the go-ahead to enter the race if he wants.
