Today, Donald Trump made a move that is going to infuriate his racist fan base and anyone who once thought he was going to be tough on Democrats and move the Republican Party’s agenda forward.
Not too long ago, lawmakers agreed to a deal that would reopen the government after 35 days. And that deal specifically states that Trump will not be getting any money for the border wall that started this whole thing. This is a major broken promise to his fanbase, and Fox News didn’t fail to pour salt in the wound as they reported on Trump’s weakness.
In a segment covering the recent announcement, Fox News’ chief White House correspondent didn’t mince his words as he called the deal a big loss for the president. Fox News reporter John Roberts said:
If the president agrees to a three week continuing resolution with no funding for border security, but there’s an agreement to negotiate, that’s something that Nancy Pelosi has been floating for a couple of weeks now, that’s something Lindsey Graham floated a couple of weeks ago that the president rejected out of hand.
So if that’s what he agrees to, it’s difficult to see this as anything but the president giving in to Democrats on Capitol Hill. Because he has been so insistent about the fact that any deal to reopen government needed to include money. Not just for border security, but for a border wall as well. If he gives up that significant piece of it, I would say that’s a big victory Democrats.”
We couldn’t agree more. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been playing Trump for a fool this entire time, exposing him as an idiot as he threw a temper tantrum and backed himself into a corner. Now even Fox News is pointing out how weak he is, signaling that the president’s fan base has never been smaller.
