Senator Lindsey Graham has been a lapdog for president Donald Trump from the very get-go — often leaving the masses to wonder just what sort of dirt the president has on the senator. Graham supports Trump so staunchly that he even regularly contradicts his own words and implements blatant double standards in an attempt to show his support for the president.
In a segment with Fox News host Chris Wallace, Graham was called out for his hypocrisy when Wallace confronted the senator with video footage of Graham himself calling for the impeachment of then-president Bill Clinton for the very same — or even less than — what Donald Trump is doing now.
“It is your job to supply us with the things we need to provide oversight over you,” Graham stated in the video clip where he was speaking in regards to White House subpoenas given to Clinton and his administration at the time.
Wallace followed up on the clip of Graham’s sanctimony by asking, “Why is it an impeachable offense for Clinton or Nixon back then to ignore congressional subpoenas, but it’s okay for President Trump to do now?”
Graham proceeded to do what every member of the Trump administration does best — completely ignore the question and harp as loudly as they can on the Mueller report being the be all end all.
“Mueller is the final word on this for me,” Graham replied, completely ignoring the right of oversight granted to Congress by the Constitution. “If Clinton had stiffed Ken Starr, that’s different. What [Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY)] is doing is trying to destroy the president and his family.”
He then added, “If I were the president, I’d fight back against this political revenge coming out of the House. Mueller was the man of the law. Mueller was an independent voice that we all trusted to be fair. I don’t trust House Democrats to be fair.”
That’s it, Lindsey, blame it all on the Democrats. We wouldn’t expect anything less.
