The fact that Donald Trump’s former administration members are so quick to expose him and make him look terrible should raise red flags for the president’s supporters, but it hasn’t yet. Today, yet another one of Trump’s former staffers — his old White House communications director, Anthony Scaramucci — went on CNN and blasted the president for his lies and insulted every Trump supporter for their lack of intelligence.
During the interview with reporter John Berman, Scaramucci flat out called Trump a “liar” and said that his fan base was too stupid to care about the truth. During the interview, Scaramucci stated that “intellectual elites” are the only people in America who care about Trump’s disgusting behavior and claims about being a “nationalist.” And when Berman asked Scaramucci if Trump “knows he’s lying,” Trump’s former mouthpiece had something very disturbing to tell America and hinted that this behavior wasn’t going to stop, ever:
I think he does. He likes it, actually.”
Berman asked, “What would you call somebody that likes lying?” Scaramucci was more than happy to throw his old boss under the bus.
Like a rascal, a scoundrel. There’s a smirk on his face when he is doing it, and there’s an entertainment aspect to it. When he goes to a rally like that, there’s a level of embellishment there because he’s playing to the crowd and playing for the laughs. You know, that has been his persona and style…”
Berman pressed further and asked, “I asked you what do you call somebody that likes to lie, and you say a scoundrel. Another thing you can call somebody that likes to lie is a liar. Is he a liar?” Scaramucci clarified and dissed Trump’s supporters in the process:
We both know that he is telling lies. If you want me to say he’s a liar, I’m happy to say he’s a liar, but I am telling you that those people that I wrote about in the book and the research that I did on it…they care way less about that, John.”
Then, Scaramucci looked right into the camera and told Trump to stop lying. He said:
Nobody should lie but you’re a politician now so politicians lie when their lips are moving … You don’t need to. You’re doing a great job for the country so dial that down and you’ll be doing a lot better.”
