Donald Trump truly showed America how little he cared about this country with his disgusting comments yesterday, which were supposed to “honor” 9/11 victims, survivors, and heroes. Not only did Trump fist-pump in celebration of the somber day, but he also made several extremely insensitive remarks throughout the day, making it entirely about himself. He proved to be an absolute disgrace of a president (again), and left America longing for a real leader in the White House.
Fortunately, the president’s behavior was upstaged by a truly honorable moment — by someone he absolutely hates. Yesterday, CNN’s Jake Tapper made a huge announcement in honor of 9/11. In a series of tweets, Tapper announced that the entire advance for the movie version of his book “The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor” would be going to veterans — which is far more than Trump has ever done for vets.
Tapper’s book tells the true events of the battle for Combat Outpost (COP) Keating, one of the most deadly battles in Afghanistan. Now that it’s getting a motion picture release, Tapper was inspired to make an impact for America’s veterans. The CNN host announced how the proceedings would be used on Twitter in several tweets:

Getting some questions about this, so will post again: my entire advance for this film is going to military charities, especially those recommended by the troops and families of COP Keating. https://t.co/UHaeWUQ2Wf

2/ These include: @vet_reunions, started by the mom of a 3-61 CAV COP Keating veteran, which just held a reunion for the men of 3-71 CAV (COP Keating from 2006-2007) and will next year host one for the men of 6-4 CAV (COP Keating from 2009-2009) https://t.co/oR4TNnjnlp

5/ And @DefofFreedom, which helps post 9/11 veterans with emergency financial assistance for a smooth transition to civilian life, which I first heard about from a COP Keating veteranhttps://t.co/mlabeG7L1O

6/ And of course @HomesForOurTrps which provides specially-designed, mortgage-free homes for the most seriously wounded post-9/11 veteranshttps://t.co/kPgQOqR8lF

7/ More to come, but they’re all worthy charities and deserving of your donation, if you can afford to give time or money!

We all know that Trump is far too selfish and corrupt to do anything as generous as this. In fact, Trump has made many moves to hurt veterans during his presidency. Tapper’s post on 9/11 couldn’t have been more necessary as we try to wash away the shame that Trump has brought upon the country.
