Andrew Gillum, the Democratic candidate for governor in Florida, has just ruined Donald Trump’s day even though the president isn’t even in the same country. Making sure that Trump would be filled with rage during his weekend visit to France this weekend, Gillum has decided to withdraw his midterm concession to Ron DeSantis while awaiting the results of a vote recount. In a tweet pinned to the top of his Twitter feed, Gillum announced:
I am replacing my earlier concession with an unapologetic and uncompromised call to count every vote.

Just yesterday, Trump had thrown a fit over officials demanding the recount, including Gillum. Trump responded to the news by tweeting:
Mayor Gillum conceded on Election Day and now Broward County has put him ‘back into play.’ Bill Nelson conceded Election – now he’s back in play!? This is an embarrassment to our Country and to Democracy!”

Gillum hadn’t taken that jab lying down — the Democratic candidate hit back at the president and wrote:
What’s embarrassing to democracy is not counting every vote — and you, of course.
Count every vote.”

Ouch. Along with his tweet announcing that he was withdrawing his concession today, Gillum made another statement that would have Trump in fits:
Since the last time we spoke on election night, an evening where I operated with the best information that was available to me––and since that time more information has come in, more information has become available around the votes, around the votes that are still outstanding.
Let me say clearly I am replacing my words of concession with an uncompromised and unapologetic call that we count every single vote, that we count every vote. And I say this recognizing that my fate in this may or may not change.”
There has been much controversy surrounding the votes in Florida, and that’s clearly why Trump is so worried.
