Donald Trump’s insane Oval Office interview with the Hill is raising eyebrows all over the country as it becomes clear that the president is out to destroy anyone who has dared to stand up to him and hold him accountable. In fact, Trump’s one-sided battles have kept him so mentally occupied, it’s pretty obvious that he has no time to do his real job.
One of the most shocking moments in the interview happened when the subject of the FBI came up. As Trump has always had it out for the law enforcement agency, the president ramped up his attacks with a disgusting statement. Trump literally called the FBI “a cancer in our country.”
Earlier this week, Trump had ordered the declassification of documents related to former campaign staffer Carter Page’s surveillance and “all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.” However, Trump didn’t even really know what was in those documents — he just wanted to make the FBI look bad. The Hill reported:
Trump said he had not read the documents he ordered declassified but said he expected to show they would prove the FBI case started as a political ‘hoax.”
Then, Trump was asked “what he thought the outcome of his long-running fight with the FBI.” This was the president’s response:
I hope to be able to put this up as one of my crowning achievements that I was able to … expose something that is truly a cancer in our country.”
Trump’s presidency is a serious danger to America. He has done everything to discredit our intelligence and law enforcement agencies, when they are just trying to protect the truth and hold him accountable. This attack on the FBI should not be overlooked — Trump has made a direct threat and his comments are as un-American as they could get.
