Donald Trump is pretty much met by protesters anywhere and everywhere he goes. They follow him to London. They follow him to his own golf course. And if you ever get a chance in your lifetime, after you’ve asked him about brown babies in cages, of course, ask him how he felt about the gigantic Trump rat balloon that greeted him in the city of Baltimore yesterday — because I’m sure he’ll have plenty to say about that.
But as it turns out, when it comes to people speaking their mind in protest of number 45, he doesn’t even actually have to be there! It seems that just the mere mention of his putrid, gag-inducing name is enough to spur crowds of people into chants of boos — which is precisely what a large group of Oregon soccer fans did.
According to a report from The Oregonian, a military swearing-in ceremony was held on the field during halftime of a Portland Thorns — a decision that was made to in correspondence with the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attack to convey their gratitude for the military.
The fans in the stands stood and cheered on the group of military service members as they swore in. However, their tones quickly took a dramatic turn when the announcer got to the part of the swearing-in pledge that required members to vow to obey orders from the commander-in-chief.
The rambunctious rounds of boos kicked in at pretty much the exact moment the man asked military members to say, “I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”
They were so loud in fact, that you could barely hear the ceremony going on over their roars of disapproval.
And quite frankly, who can blame them?
I’d take orders from a Hot Pocket before I took them from Donald Trump.
