White House senior advisor and Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has been under the microscope lately — for everything ranging from his use of personal email and WhatsApp accounts to conduct government correspondence to his questionable security clearance. It seems that Kushner begrudgingly agreed to hand over requested documents pertaining to the use of personal accounts and now he appears to be addressing the security clearance issue.
Kushner sat down with Fox News and attempted to do a little damage control stating in the wake of a White House whistleblower claiming that Trump gave ill-advised and dangerous security clearance to 25 unqualified individuals, one of whom was Kushner himself — stating that he has been “accused of all different kinds of things” that “turned out to be false.”
“Over the last two years that I’ve been here, I’ve been accused of all different types of things and all of those things turned out to be false. We’ve had a lot of crazy accusations, like that we colluded with Russia,” Kushner stated in an interview with The Ingraham Angle on Fox News.
It appears that Kushner is trying to do some serious troubleshooting and correction, considering that just a few days ago, Tricia Newbold went on record with the House Oversight and Reform Committee to blow the whistle on the security clearance process that has been implemented in the White House.
The memo stated, “According to Ms. Newbold, these individuals had a wide range of serious disqualifying issues involving foreign influence, conflicts of interest, concerning personal conduct, financial problems, drug use, and criminal conduct.”
Kushner tried to backtrack and double down by claiming that he disclosed all of his holdings to the Office of Government Ethics at the very beginning of Trump’s term.
“When I came to Washington, I had a very successful business career,” Kushner stated. “I had extensive holdings. I disclosed all my holdings to the Office of Government Ethics… They told me what to divest, what to keep, what rules to follow.”
In the midst of the absolute shitstorm that is the entire Trump presidency, Kushner seems to be trying, and failing, to get out in front of things before his association to the president as well as his own transgressions all start blowing up in his face.
