The House Judiciary Committee released a list of over 80 groups, individuals and organizations it sent requests for documents to in relation to their sweeping investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign, businesses, and administration. While the list was extensive and included people like Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Jared Kushner, some notable names were not included — particularly Ivanka Trump.
While Ivanka’s exclusion from the list was rather confusing given her family member’s and husband’s inclusion, the House Judiciary Committee isn’t done sending documents yet. A house representative for the committee confirmed to Time Magazine that the 81 targets are just the first batch of many people who will be served in the investigation process.

Nadler wrote a message to each recipient stressing that this is a critical time for America, and his staff noted every single one of them has already been caught up in investigations related to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation so far. A senior Democratic committee lawyer has also said public and closed-door hearings will begin in a matter of weeks.
Some of the people who could potentially be part of the second round of documents include other notable Trump administration officials including Sarah Sanders, Kellyanne Conway, and Ivanka Trump. Given Ivanka’s role in the Trump administration and history working for the Trump Organization, it’s extremely unlikely she doesn’t get pulled into the investigation at some point.
The House Judiciary Committee revealed it is getting their list of people to investigate vetted by special counsel Robert Mueller as a backup plan if Mueller’s report doesn’t become public. Nadler said on ABC News this past Sunday that the documents are to “begin investigations, to present the case to the American people about obstruction of justice, about corruption and abuse of power.”
