Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jerrold Nadler says his committee will be serving over 60 entities and individuals with document requests on Monday. The documents are being served to everyone from Trump himself to his son Donald Trump Jr. and others involved in alleged issues of obstruction of justice and corruption during Trump’s presidency.

Tomorrow, we will be issuing document requests to over 60 different people and individuals from the White House to the Department of Justice, Donald Trump, Jr., Allen Weisselburg, to begin the investigations to present the case to the American people about obstruction of justice, corruption, and abuse of power.”

Nadler made an appearance on ABC News to discuss the documents being served and said impeachment is still a long way down the road. During Michael Cohen’s testimony this week, Trump’s former personal attorney and fixer alleged the president’s crimes have not all become public yet as they are a part of an investigation being conducted by the Southern District of New York.

Last year, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison by a federal judge in Manhattan for crimes including campaign finance violations, tax evasion and lying to Congress. During his testimony, Cohen said he is in “constant contact” with the Southern District of New York about the investigation into the president’s crimes.

In light of this information, Nadler says his committee doesn’t have all of the facts yet and won’t be starting impeachment investigations but they are planning to initiate investigations that could lead to this. Nadler elaborated on this, saying “there can be crimes that are impeachable offenses and impeachable offenses that are not crimes.”

One of the primary focuses of the documents being served will be checks presented by Cohen during his testimony he says were reimbursements for hush money payments made by Trump to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels. Cohen alleged one of the checks was written by Trump during his presidency while the other check, written during the election campaign, was signed by the president’s oldest son Donald Trump Jr.
