Trump Tries To Celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day, America Brilliantly Shuts Him Down

Who told Trump it was a good idea to say this?!

Yesterday was Mexico’s Independence Day, and Donald Trump had the nerve to actually try and celebrate the nation’s holiday after being the most disrespectful, racist, and insulting world leader Mexico has ever dealt with. Fortunately, this had severe consequences for the president.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted this, only to have it blow up in his face:

Congratulations to all of our Mexican friends on National Independence Day. We will be doing great things together!”

It’s not hard to see why this would be offensive, especially if you’re familiar with Trump’s history of attacking and insulting Mexico. Let’s not forget that Trump made his stance on Mexico perfectly clear in 2015, when he announced his run for president. Trump completely contradicted his recent statement to “our Mexican friends” when he said this about Mexico:

They are not our friend, believe me.

They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

And we also can’t leave out the fact that he’s been pushing for his expensive, completely unnecessary border wall and is still saying that “Mexico will pay for it” even though the country has repeatedly refused. Needless to say, Trump got absolutely torched for his hypocrisy yesterday:

Thank goodness Americans will always come forward to remind Trump that he should just sit down and shut up.
