Trump Spent Weekend Trashing Navy SEALS, Thinks They Should Have Gotten Bin Laden Sooner; Admiral Fires Back

This is completely unacceptable.

Just in case you weren’t disgusted enough with Donald Trump over his behavior during the Veterans’ Day weekend both abroad and at home, it looks like the President is just going to continue talking out of both sides of his mouth until he gets bored of it.

It’s almost alarming how often Trump says that “no one has been better” for the military and for veterans than he has, when he KNOWS that he’s cut benefits, frozen hiring, delayed pay, worsened the VA, ruined every unit that depended on a transgender soldier in any capacity, and even used them as props during a fake scare over a caravan of migrants he claimed he was going to have our troops shoot at if they so much as threw a rock.

In truth, no commander in chief has ever been worse for the military or for morale than Donald Trump.

And I’ll be honest, if I were considering serving in the military and I saw the video you’re about to see, I would rethink my entire life, because if the President of the United States can talk like this about the genuine heroes of this nation, then he would certainly have no respect for me or my service.

During a Fox News Sunday interview with Chris Wallace that aired this morning, Trump was asked about criticism of his leadership by retired Navy Admiral William McRaven, who commanded the team of Navy SEALs who were responsible for the killing of Osama bin Laden in May of 2011.

He barely let Wallace get a word in edgewise as he slammed McRaven for being a “fan” of Hillary Clinton and a “backer” of Barack Obama — who was his commander for the latter part of his career. Then Trump did the unthinkable.

As Wallace incredulously pointed out that McRaven was a Navy SEAL and a 37-year veteran of the military, Trump — totally unprompted — said,

Frankly, wouldn’t it have been nice if we’d got Osama bin Laden a lot sooner than that? Wouldn’t it have been nice?”

This man-baby has no business near nuclear codes, as he has zero respect for the military, and honestly, he should be censured by the current Republican Congress for even saying something as offensive as this.

Watch the unbelievable exchange here:

After Trump’s interview aired, Admiral McRaven told Jake Tapper:

I did not back Hillary Clinton or anyone else. I am a fan of President Obama and President George W. Bush, both of whom I worked for. I admire all Presidents, regardless of their political party, who uphold the dignity of the office and who use that office to bring the Nation together in challenging times. I stand by my comment that the President’s attack on the media is the greatest threat to our democracy in my lifetime. When you undermine the people’s right to a free press and freedom of speech and expression, then you threaten the Constitution and all for which it stands.”
