The president is in big trouble.

If you’ve looked at Trump’s Twitter today, you’ll notice that the president is having a colossal meltdown. It hadn’t even hit noon yet and Trump had already fired off around a dozen unhinged tweets, each more ridiculous than the last. It’s like America is watching his downfall in real time.

Trump was set off by a New York Times report that was published yesterday, which stated that the FBI had opened an investigation into whether he’d been working for Russia. The Times reported:

In the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests.”

That’s just insane. We’re really at the point where America’s intelligence community is actually building a case against the president because there’s a reason to believe he’s been working for a foreign adversary. Former FBI Assistant Director Frank Figliuzzi explained that the evidence isn’t just coming from the U.S. intelligence community — some of it is also coming from allies.

Trump is in big trouble, and he knows it. He’s been throwing a temper tantrum on social media on everything from Russia to the government shutdown to former FBI Director James Comey. The president’s craziness has no bounds today, and it shows. Here’s just a small portion of what the president’s been doing on Twitter:

This is probably a big turning point for Trump — and it seems as though he knows it.
