Of course, before he landed back in the states, Donald Trump just had to get a jump on bragging about himself. During his recent state visit in the United Kingdom, Donald met with Queen Elizabeth II a few times, and we’re pretty sure it made him feel like he was royalty himself.
While in Normandy, France for a celebration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, Donald held up the entire commencement ceremony while interviewing with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, and instead of just acting like a normal human being and saying that his time spent with the Queen went well, Donald simply had to take the opportunity to brag about how much the monarch adored him — claiming that the pair had an instant connection and the Queen simply had the time of her life with him.
“The meeting with the Queen was incredible,” Trump said at the beginning of his interview with Ingraham that was pre-recorded at the Normandy American Cemetary and Memorial.
“I think I can say I really got to know her because I sat with her many times and we had automatic chemistry, you understand that feeling, it’s a good feeling,” Donald carried on.
The president went on to further over-exaggerate when he claimed towards the end of his Fox News interview that “there are those that say they have never seen the Queen have a better time, a more animated time” than she did while she was with him.
“We had a period where we were talking solid, straight, I didn’t even know who the other people at the table were, never spoke to them,” Trump asserted. “We just had a great time together.”
Of course, Trump couldn’t pass up the opportunity with his favorite safe space news platform to also trash House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Special Counsel Robert Mueller as well as defend the outright tariff wars that he has created with China and Mexico.
While we can’t say for certain, I’d bet my last dime that the Queen is currently rolling her eyes in the comfort of her Trump-free palace right about now.
