Republican Senators Met With Kushner To Discuss Policy, Concluded He Was An Idiot

He can't even make sense to his own party.

Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner has been handed the torch, so to speak, on the up and coming immigration bill that is set to be introduced by the administration today. As the lead man on the issue, Jared met with several Republican senators on Capitol Hill to give everyone the opportunity to discuss their concerns with the plan before it’s introduced to Congress.

According to a report from the Washington Post, all Kushner really accomplished during the meeting was making himself look like a clueless idiot.

The Post reported that while senators publicly voiced their support for the bill to Kushner’s face during the meeting, they quickly started whistling a different tune as soon as Trump’s son-in-law left the room. Once they were able to speak freely, Republicans expressed their concern that Jared was ignorant of the situation and was unable  to provide “clear answers” despite the fact that he was addressing a “friendly audience.”

As a result of Jared’s obvious confusion during the gathering, Trump advisor Stephen Miller ended up interrupting Kushner and taking over the conversation several times.

Kushner apparently dismissed several key topics that senators thought to be absolutely crucial to the bill, such as DACA protection — telling Senator Susan Collins of Maine that they would not be addressing DACA in any capacity — which “confused” several Senators, as they know that Democrats, and even possibly Collins herself, would not support a bill without DACA protections.

“I am concerned about the fate of the DACA young people, and they cannot be excluded from any immigration package,” Collins told the Post.

According to the report, the majority of Senators left the meeting with “little hope” for the impending bill and some “left the meeting wondering whether Kushner understood the issue.”

An anonymous official told the Post, “He’s in his own little world. He didn’t give many details about what was in [his plan]… And there were a number of instances where people had to step in and answer questions because he couldn’t.”

It appears that even Kushner’s fellow Republicans are coming to understand just how uninformed and downright ignorant Trump’s son-in-law really is.
