WSJ Criticized Michelle Obama For Not “Defending” Melania: She “Learned To Speak Six Languages”

Melania wishes she was half the lady Michelle is.

Michelle Obama recently expressed her disdain for Donald Trump and his administration specifically in regards to the racism-fueled was that Donald has ignited with four Congresswomen of color on Twitter — beginning with a tweet telling them to “go back where they came from” and spiraling into what we can only guess is now Trump’s newest campaign slogan.

“What truly makes our country great is its diversity. I’ve seen that beauty in so many ways over the years. Whether we are born here or seek refuge here, there’s a place for us all. We must remember it’s not my America or your America. It’s our America,” the former First Lady wrote on her Twitter account, condemning the president for his blatant racist behavior with an air of elegance and dignity we would expect from Michelle.

But evidently, the former FLOTUS’ remarks rubbed one Wall Street Journal reporter the wrong way — ending in him penning an op-ed with the major news outlet in which he called on Michelle to be a little nicer to the current First Lady, Melania Trump.

Conservative pundit Douglas MacKinnon implored the former First Lady to “go high” as he feels that Melania should be included in Michelle’s description of America’s great diversity.

“What an opportunity for Mrs. Obama to show that she meant what she tweeted about diversity,” MacKinnon wrote in his op-ed. “Does she see its beauty in Mrs. Trump? Can the former first lady overlook her feelings toward President Trump to give much-deserved credit to the current first lady—a woman who came from a tough background, carved out a place for herself in a highly competitive and unforgiving industry and learned to speak six languages along the way?”

This is no more than your typical conservative gaslighting tactic, folks. The right can be as hateful as they’d like towards us, yet the moment we get angry and speak out, we suddenly need to “go high.” Our anger, disappointment, and disdain are suddenly considered dramatic and uncalled for and we’re the ones that should be the bigger person.

And to that, we say “hell no!” We’re angry and we’re fed up. And we will no longer be the ones to “go high.” We’re here to fight.
