Throughout Donald Trump’s presidency, we’ve seen some really creative lies come from his White House. Some of the most unbelievable justifications, excuses, and tales have come out of the mouths of his many White House press secretaries and advisors — most of which have made no sense whatsoever. What Trump’s White House did today was the perfect reminder that America is being run by a circus full of clowns.
If the way Trump’s White House responds to reporters is any indication of how the president is doing, let’s just say things have hit an entirely new low. Earlier today, Trump’s team told a ridiculous lie to help the president avoid reporters — clearly an attempt to keep the president from having to answer questions about the recently exposed taped conversations about hush money between him and his former lawyer, Michael Cohen.
Trump is traveling to Iowa and Illinois today. In order to avoid giving America answers about his disgusting, corrupt behavior, Trump took a motorcade to Andrews Air Force Base, where he would board Air Force One. This was done intentionally so that Trump could avoid taking his helicopter from the South Lawn of the White House (as he usually does), where he would be questioned by reporters. But even more comical is the reason the White House gave reporters: Fog.
That’s right — the White House cited “bad weather” in Washington, D.C. as a reason Trump couldn’t get on his helicopter and speak to reporters. But it’s not foggy at all. NBC’s Hallie Jackson called the White House out in disbelief:
View from my office window as the White House makes a bad weather call – meaning the president will take a car to Andrews, rather than depart via his helicopter from the South Lawn where reporters can gather to shout questions at him. pic.twitter.com/csRYnCmbGI

Via the pool reporter today (it’s @FoxNews repping the networks) who asked the White House what’s up: “Was told the reason for the bad weather call is ‘bad weather.’ Pressed further, am told there is fog.”

One would think that as much as the people in the White House are being paid, at least they could come up with a more convincing lie. Something is up with Trump — and the White House is clearly having a hard time covering it up.
