Last night, Donald Trump sent out an unhinged tweet (as usual) insisting that he was NOT limiting the FBI’s investigation into his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh — even though his own White House official had stated that the FBI was being limited earlier in the day.
It seems as though Trump is lying through his teeth (again) and that his official’s account of the White House limiting the FBI in who they can or cannot speak to in Kavanaugh’s sexual assault allegations probe was dead on. Earlier today, Washington Post White House correspondent Josh Dawsey went on CNN to explain just how worried Trump and his corrupt administration were about the allegations being investigated and delivered a bombshell.
During this interview, Dawsey confirmed that the Trump administration was actually trying to put limits on the FBI — and the reason why should raise eyebrows. Dawsey stated that Trump and his team are stressing out because “they are concerned more women will come forward.” He said:
Some of the greatest concerns I heard from folks inside the White House last week was that as you prolong this investigation for another week, they are afraid new women will come forward, new accusations, new lawyers, new accounts.”
Wow. That does not sound like a White House that is confident in their choice for the Supreme Court, and honestly, they seem almost resigned to the idea that Kavanaugh has sexually assaulted women. Dawsey continued:
If you don’t have a vote for 10-15 days, for some people that I’ve talked to, there’s less fear about what this FBI investigation might show and more fear about dragging this out. Dragging this out, you lose all momentum, you lose control. And then you have news organizations, FBI, everyone digging through all sorts of episodes that maybe have not come to the public heretofore.
So, I think the concern among many folks in the White House is that the longer this goes, the worse it gets for Brett Kavanaugh.”
