Donald Trump has once again proven that he is the most hostile president when it comes to the press and being held accountable for all the things he promised his deranged fanbase.
Earlier today, we saw Trump lash out at yet another reporter who tried to get answers for Americans who are now watching this country spiral out of control thanks to the former reality television star we have in the White House. CNN White House reporter Kaitlan Collins decided to ask Trump a “tough” question, and the president didn’t take too kindly to that.
During the president’s Rose Garden press conference, Collins asked a completely reasonable question about the president’s campaign promise that Mexico would pay for his racist border wall, and the president freaked out. Collins asked:
You ran your campaign promising supporters that Mexico is going to pay for the wall.”
Trump was disrespectful from the start. He rolled his eyes and said, “Oh here we go,” like a child. However, Collins continued:
…And that the wall was going to be made of concrete. You just said earlier that the wall could be made of steel, and right now our government is shut down over a demand from your administration that the American taxpayer pay for the wall. So how can you say that you’re not failing on that promise to your supporters?”
The president’s rude attitude continued:
A very nice question, so beautifully asked — even though I just answered it.”
Collins was not backing down and held him to the fire. She objected, “You didn’t answer it!”
Trump then said his wall would be funded from savings made off his USMCA trade deal with Mexico (and gave no specifics how that would happen). He also denied that he said the wall would be made of concrete, prompting Collins to fact check him and fire back, “You’ve said concrete.” Trump just continued to snap at her:
I know you’re not into the construction business. Steel is stronger than concrete.”
Collins tried to ask another question, but the mic was pulled right out of her hand. You can watch this horrific behavior from Trump below:
