Watch As Melania Appears To Take A Swipe At Her Husband During Her Anti-Bullying Speech

This is not exactly the most subtle thing she's said.

First Lady Melania Trump’s habit of speaking out against her husband is a subtle one, although it has been becoming more pronounced in recent days, as Mr. Trump’s behavior has become, some might say, increasingly unhinged and abusive toward any who disagree with him.

It is perhaps the pinnacle of irony, then, that Melania continues her “Be Best” campaign against cyberbullying despite the departure of her program director Reagan Hedlund, and despite the fact that she is married to possibly the poster child for what cyberbullying looks like — invective, gaslighting, and encouraging others to bully along with him.

But at a stop in Maryland on Monday in support of the initiative, Mrs. Trump appeared to take a swipe at her husband’s online behavior with her comments during the introductory speech:

In today’s global society, social media is an inevitable part of our children’s daily lives. It can be used in many positive ways, but can also be destructive and harmful when used incorrectly. This is why ‘Be Best’ chooses to focus on teaching our next generation how to conduct themselves safely and in [a] positive manner in an online setting … [I] believe our next generation has unlimited potential to impact our world in positive ways.”

Despite the obvious language barrier that the Slovenian-born immigrant faces, her intent is clear: To help teach people who don’t know any better how to use the internet. But it was one line in her speech that got our attention, and certainly, people and pundits will be tying it to Donald Trump for the rest of today and into the next week:

Let’s face it: Most children are more aware of the benefits and pitfalls of social media than some adults.”

We couldn’t agree more, Melania.
