Today was just the beginning of the week, but it turned out to be a very rough start for Trump as the president’s entire Monday was dominated by news coverage calling out his outrageous lies about the economy and his efforts to slam former president Barack Obama.
Trump started the day off by boasting about how great GDP was, taking a direct dig at Obama as he tweeted:
‘President Trump would need a magic wand to get to 4% GDP,’ stated President Obama. I guess I have a magic wand, 4.2%, and we will do MUCH better than this! We have just begun.”
First of all, Obama never said that — and it was a complete lie. But that wasn’t the only lie about the economy that Trump told today. In a newsletter to his extremely gullible, intellectually challenged supporters, the president bragged about how great the economy was doing under his leadership and lashed out at his critics. The newsletter stated:
President Donald J. Trump’s critics are attempting a neat trick: After months of denying America’s recent economic success, they are now owning up to it—and reassigning credit to the Obama Administration.”

The way Trump tries to spin his failures is getting somewhat amusing — especially when he gets fact-checked and looks like a complete idiot. On Twitter, digital strategist John Aravosis fact-checked the president with his own graphs, demolishing all confidence Trump’s supporters may have had in their unhinged president. Aravosis posted:
Here’s what Trump is now calling ‘an economic turnaround’ — an economy and stock market that had been growing for 7 years before Trump got there. It’s simply amazing how much Trump Republicans lie to their voters.”

Here’s a closeup of those graphs, which clearly show that the reason for America’s current economic success can be traced back to Obama:
Trump clearly doesn’t get tired of looking bad, because the lies keep coming. Unfortunately, his fanbase is too brainwashed to pay attention to the facts.
