Donald Trump’s mental instability has done such damage to his White House that his team is practically terrified to make any moves. The Washington Post is now reporting that the Office of the Press Secretary is paralyzed, afraid to do anything to explain Trump’s agenda.
An anonymous correspondent told the Post:
He [Trump] makes it up every few seconds, so they’re afraid to do anything. . . . It’s not a place where being a freewheeling thinker is valued and rewarded. It’s all about the whims of one man.”
The Post also stated that the Trump administration usually refuses to make comments or respond to major stories, which may be because Trump will only run in the opposite direction once they say something. New York Times reporter Peter Baker remarked on how weird Trump’s White House was and said:
I don’t know why that is. I don’t take it personally. But it’s a lost opportunity on their part to get their side of the story out.”
Trump’s Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, has also been missing in action as of late. Her daily press briefings have become monthly press briefings, and now she regularly cuts the few briefings she does short. Mike McCurry, who was press secretary for Bill Clinton, said:
President Trump thinks like he’s his own press secretary and he’s the one that ought to be the spokesman every day, and I’m not even sure he likes the idea he’s got someone called the spokesman or a press secretary.”
Not only is the fact that the White House press office is immobilized a big issue — the department has been cut down to half its size from the year before. This is all thanks to Trump’s horrific leadership and his erratic behavior. He’s made his administration too afraid to do their jobs – because he’s incapable of doing his.
