America is tired of having a president that flees the White House and runs off to play golf nearly every weekend. At this point in Trump’s presidency, everyone knows that Trump spends far more time at his properties, and when he’s not playing golf he is tweeting and bingeing on cable news. This is no way for the president to act, especially when he’s using his presidency to line his pockets while taking money from taxpayers.
Many people have forgotten this, but Trump once stated that he would be “too busy” to do any of the things he’s now made a habit of. In August 2016, the president said:
I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to go play golf.”
That was obviously a lie. Trump has spent over 120 days at one of his golf resorts, and these visits have cost taxpayers a whopping $74 million since his inauguration. America has been protesting for the president to actually do his job for quite some time, and a perfect example of this is what happened near his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach last year.
Fed up with the president’s lack of anything resembling a work ethic and worried about the costs of the president’s careless vacation trips, Floridians set out to send Trump a strong message while Trump was on his way to Mar-a-Lago. A group of people found the route that Trump’s motorcade would be taking and help up signs while Trump’s motorcade drive past them. The crazy thing is that this is still happening. Trump still hasn’t learned to be a better president and Americans are still furious as ever. Even Trump’s own voters feel wildly deceived by the Tweeter in Chief. We can only imagine the celebrating that will come when Trump gets voted out (or impeached).
